These are from the November 11th, 2001 appearance at Katy Budget Books of  the fantastic author and illustrator of  "A Cowboy Christmas".  Audrey Wood is the author of many well loved children's books including Napping House.  Robert Florczak has illustrated several of Ms. Wood's titles as well as "Persian Cinderella"  which is currently on the Texas Bluebonnet Master list.  Mr. Florczak explained to the eager crowd of kids and parents how  the illustrations for a book are developed and showed us several of his original watercolors which he painted in the process of illustrating the book.  Mrs. Wood explained how she came to write "A Cowboy Christmas" and read an excerpt from her book.   Refreshments included a cake decorated with a copy of a picture from the book.   The kids in the crowd made bird feeders while the adults waited to get their signed books.  Everyone had a great time.  It is a real treat to have the author and the illustrator of such a beautiful book come to our store.
